Pune: A 32-year-old badminton coach was arrested on Tuesday in connection with his wife’s suspected dowry death.The coach’s wife was found hanging from the ceiling of their home in Moshi on July 17. The Bhosari MIDC police have filed a case against the coach and his parents, charging them under sections 80 (dowry death) and 115 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).The victim’s father, a farmer from Akola district, lodged the complaint. According to a police officer, the couple got married in 2022 and since then the woman was allegedly being harassed by her husband and his parents.“The complainant has claimed that he gave around Rs5 lakh to his son-in-law at regular intervals. But they kept harassing his daughter to get more money and a motorcycle,” the officer said.
