Gorakhpur: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate another key road connectivity project in Gorakhpur on Monday, further strengthening the city’s transport infrastructure.The inauguration marks the third major road infrastructure project to be dedicated to the public by the chief minister within a month. On July 11, the CM inaugurated the 11.6-km Bhathat-Banssthan four-lane road, built at a cost of around Rs 690 crore.Later, on July 23, he dedicated the district’s first six-lane flyover, constructed at a cost of Rs 429.49 crore, along with the four-lane road connecting Padleganj Chowk and Firaq Gorakhpuri Chowk, developed at a cost of Rs 278 crore.Officials said the upgraded corridor will improve connectivity for residents of Green City and adjoining colonies while also providing a smoother alternative route to Madhopur Bandha. Drainage facilities have been built on both sides of the road to ensure proper water discharge during the monsoon.The project involves the widening and strengthening of a nearly 2-km stretch connecting the Gorakhpur-Sonauli highway (NH-24) to Madhopur Bandha via Green City and Patniya. Executed by the PWD (Construction Division-II), the road has been developed at Rs 69.58 crore.
