BENGALURU: Bengaluru’s iconic Victory Cinema has announced that it will not screen Tamil Nadu chief minister and actor C Joseph Vijay’s upcoming film Jana Nayagan, citing its inability to reach an agreement with producer KVN Productions over commercial terms.In a statement posted on Instagram, the theatre said it had been keen to bring the film to audiences and was willing to screen it under the same commercial arrangements that it extends to all distributors.They wrote, “Thalapathy Vijay‘s ‘JANA NAYAGAN’ is not being screened at Victory Cinema. We know many of you were waiting to watch this film with us, and we were equally keen to bring it to our screen.Victory Cinema was ready to screen ‘JANA NAYAGAN’ on the same terms that we and theatres across the industry extend to every distributor, big or small.”Directed by H Vinoth, the film stars Vijay alongside Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, Prakash Raj, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Priyamani.The project features music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan and editing by Pradeep E Ragav.Jana Nayagan is the official remake of the National Award-winning Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari (2023), which starred Nandamuri Balakrishna and Sreeleela.’(With ANI inputs)
