Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Saturday directed the information and public relations department to take effective steps to project Bihar’s achievements at the national level, saying the state’s development work must be strongly branded outside the state.Reviewing the department’s functioning at the chief minister’s secretariat here, Choudhary said Bihar had carried out significant good work that should be communicated better so people across the country can know and understand the progress made in the state. He stressed the need for stronger national-level branding of Bihar’s governance and development initiatives.
The CM also instructed officials to identify govt land that could be used for advertisements and related purposes to generate revenue. He said proper use of govt resources was necessary and such assets should be utilised effectively.Choudhary further asked officials to identify cultural heritage sites at the district level and improve arrangements for providing tourists with information in a simple and accessible manner. He said better communication around heritage locations would help promote Bihar’s cultural identity.Emphasising technology-driven governance, the CM called for effective use of Artificial Intelligence for real-time monitoring of govt work. He said departments should explore how AI can be better integrated into administration and public functions, with the urban development and housing department and the panchayati raj department asked to begin work on this specifically.Earlier, I&PRD secretary Anupam Kumar briefed the CM on the department’s priorities. He said the govt was using multiple publicity platforms to spread awareness about welfare schemes and positive changes in the state. These include electronic media, social media, web media, web portals, influencers and digital platforms. He added that Brand Bihar, art, culture, archaeological sites and other heritage locations were being promoted, while AI was also being used across publicity mediums.
