Srinagar, Oct 3: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President Showkat Mir on Saturday said the elected government was working to address public grievances and improve public services.
Interacting with public delegations, party functionaries and workers at the party headquarters, Mir said the government was committed to transparent governance and a development-oriented agenda.
He said efforts were underway to improve infrastructure, strengthen health and education services and create opportunities for youth.
Mir accused the BJP and its supporters of resorting to “baseless allegations” and “negative propaganda” against the National Conference government. He described the opposition campaign as an attempt to divert public attention from issues concerning the people.
He also claimed that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had recently highlighted what he termed the BJP’s “double standards” in the Legislative Assembly and alleged that the Lieutenant Governor’s office was being used to obstruct the elected government’s functioning.
Mir said the National Conference would continue to advocate what he described as the rights, identity, dignity and interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
