Dimapur: Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio on Thursday told the state assembly that the state govt is exploring the option of handing over the Multi-Disciplinary Sports Complex in Dimapur to the Sports Authority of India (SAI) as a possible solution for completing the remaining construction work and ensuring its full utilisation, considering the financial constraints.Replying to a question by MLA Nuklutoshi seeking details on the total funds received and reasons for delay in completion of the facility in the eighth session of the 14th Nagaland Assembly, Rio said the project was delayed due to limited financial resources and phased funding over the years. He said while Rs 140 crore has been received so far, the total requirement for completion of the project is estimated at Rs 267 crore, including GST and other costs.Rio said the process of handing over the facility to SAI is currently underway.
