Jaipur: CM Bhajan Lal Sharma Saturday launched the statewide cleanliness pledge and awareness programme from Albert Hall to mark the start of Rajasthan Day celebrations on March 19. The CM performed ‘shramdaan’ (voluntary labour) and distributed PPE kits to municipal corporation sanitation workers. He also handed out symbolic cheques to beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Svanidhi Yojana. “The objective of this programme is that cleanliness is not just the govt’s job but also a personal duty,” he said. Sharma added that the Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Jan Abhiyan was launched for cleaning water sources, in which more than 2.5 crore citizens participated. tnn
