Patna: During his two-district Samriddhi Yatra on Thursday, CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 261 schemes worth Rs 326 crore through remote control from the campus of the Kajra solar power plant in Lakhisarai district. He also announced steps being taken by the govt to strengthen the dairy sector in Munger district. On the occasion, the CM reviewed ongoing schemes in the respective districts.He inspected various wings of the solar power plant and addressed a public meeting there as part of his ‘jan samvad’ programme. He also reviewed ongoing schemes pertaining to the district. In Munger district, he reviewed schemes on the campus of Safiabad airport and also addressed a public meeting there.The solar power production plant at Kajra is an ambitious programme of the state govt. In its first phase, work relating to the production of 185MW of solar power and a 202 MW hour battery energy storage unit has been completed. Work on the second phase, involving the production of 116 MW of solar power and a 241MW battery energy storage unit, has begun. The CM inspected the control room and hybrid energy management system and sought information from officials and engineers about their functioning.During his review of implementation of ongoing schemes under the Saat Nishchay-2 programme and those announced during his Pragati Yatra for the two districts, the CM directed officials to expedite implementation and ensure quality work. As many as 430 schemes were announced for the entire state during the Pragati Yatra.

He also sought details from officials regarding implementation of the Saat Nishchay-3 programme. Addressing public meetings in Munger and Lakhisarai, the CM said the industrial, infrastructural and educational activities envisioned under Saat Nishchay-3 are aimed at bringing Bihar into the category of developed states and providing jobs and work opportunities for 1 crore youths over the next five years.At Munger, he said that during the caste-based headcount in 2023, around 94 lakh families were identified as poor with a monthly income of less than Rs 6,000. Of these, 83.20 lakh families have been covered under the Rojgar Yojana, while the remaining ones would also be covered by next month. He also said that under the Mahila Rojgar Yojana, Rs 10,000 has been given to each of 1.76 crore women and the plan is to provide more than Rs 2 lakh to them after assessing the viability of their economic activities.With respect to Munger, he said that as part of strengthening the dairy sector, milk producers’ committees would be set up in 124 villages and Sudha milk outlets would be opened in 99 panchayats. An Adarsh school and a degree college would also be opened in each of the nine blocks.Among those who addressed the meetings were Union minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, deputy CMs Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, water resources minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary and cane minister Sanjay Kumar. Senior officials from the state, division and district administrations, as well as those from the CM’s secretariat, were also present.
