Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday inspected the progress of work on the under-construction Danapur-Bihta Elevated Corridor and the under-construction work on the Bihta airport premises.He conducted a site inspection of the elevated corridor, took detailed information from officials and directed them to complete the construction work expeditiously.“The Danapur-Bihta Elevated Corridor is a major infrastructure project in Bihar, designed to provide seamless connectivity between Patna and its western suburbs, specifically the upcoming Bihta Civil Enclave. Once completed, it is expected to be the longest elevated road in East India,” an official said.Kumar also inspected the Bihta airport and took information regarding the ongoing construction work at the airport premises. Through the site map, officials provided information about the runway, passenger amenities, road connectivity for commuting and other facilities to be made available.The CM asked officials the construction work at the airport should be completed within the stipulated time frame. He also asked them to maintain better quality of construction while keeping safety standards in mind.He reviewed the under-construction road connecting the Danapur-Bihta Elevated Path to the Bihta Airport and directed officials to complete the work at the earliest. He also inspected the runway located at the Indian Air Force station on the Bihta premises.“The completion of Bihta airport construction will further improve air connectivity in Bihar. Along with this, passengers will be able to get world-class facilities. The Danapur-Bihta Elevated Corridor is being constructed to reach Bihta airport from the Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport, Patna, in the minimum possible time. The construction of Bihta airport will enhance connectivity further and will also reduce the burden on Patna airport. At the same time, opportunities for employment and business will also increase,” Kumar said during the inspection.State water resources minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, principal secretary to the CM Deepak Kumar, secretary of the road construction department Pankaj Kumar Pal, secretaries to the CM Kumar Ravi and Chandrashekhar Singh, DM Thiyagarajan SM, SSP Kartikey K Sharma, along with other senior officials, were present during the inspection.
