Guwahati: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday congratulated the Hagrama Mohilary-led BPF on completing one year in office in BTC, saying the NDA govts at the Centre, in the state and in the council were working together to accelerate development in the region.Sarma said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, every provision of the Bodo Peace Accord was being implemented to ensure lasting peace in the region.“Our Triple Engine NDA govt in Delhi, Dispur and Kokrajhar is ensuring that the region grows and progresses swiftly on the developmental ladder,” he said in a social media post.The CM said state govt welfare schemes, including Orunodoi, CMAAA, MMUA and free ration distribution, were being implemented in the region.The state govt has also approved a special package of Rs 1,000 crore for road infrastructure development in the region and is taking steps to position it as a manufacturing and logistics hub, he said.The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), led by Mohilary, won 28 of the BTC’s 40 seats in elections held in Sept last year, while BJP secured five seats.The BTC is an autonomous council governing the Bodoland Territorial Region, which comprises four districts — Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa and Udalguri.
