Bhubaneswar: CM Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday attended the inauguration of the Shri Jagannath Temple in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, describing it as “not merely the launch of an architectural structure but a renaissance of faith, culture and spiritual consciousness.”Participating in the Ganga aarti, Majhi said the new Jagannath temple on the banks of the Triveni Sangam would strengthen national unity by bringing together Odisha’s devotional heritage and the spiritual legacy of Prayagraj. Seeking the blessings of Mahaprabhu, he said the temple has created a “strong spiritual bridge between North and East India.”

Majhi noted that Lord Jagannath is not only a symbol of Odisha’s identity and pride but is connected to the soul of the entire nation. The Jagannath culture, he added, promotes equality, service and harmony.The CM praised Swami Chidanand Saraswati Maharaj for his efforts in establishing the temple, calling it a confluence of devotion, culture and patriotism. He also recalled Swamiji’s contributions to environment conservation, Ganga cleanliness and humanitarian service.Majhi said Prayagraj, historically known as a centre of penance, has once again affirmed India’s cultural unity through the establishment of the temple. He expressed hope that it would become a major centre of spiritual inspiration, spreading the message of humanity, service and peace.Swami Chidanand Saraswati Maharaj, Uttar Pradesh Jal Shakti minister Swatantra Dev Singh, Odisha advocate general Pitambar Acharya, and hundreds of saints were present at the ceremony.
