T’puram: A 16-year-old Class XI student was found hanging at his home in Naruvamoodu on Wednesday morning. The police said it is a case of suspected suicide. The deceased was identified as Hari Das, son of Suni Amma, a resident of the area and a student of Balaramapuram Govt Higher Secondary School.According to Naruvamoodu Police, Amma went to her son’s bedroom around 8am but could not find him there. She alerted relatives, who reached the house and began searching for the teenager. He was later found hanging inside a restroom located outside the house.Relatives immediately took Das to Govt General Hospital, Neyyattinkara, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.The body was subsequently shifted to MCH, Thiruvananthapuram, for postmortem. After the autopsy, the body was handed over to the relatives.Naruvamoodu Police have registered a case under the provisions relating to unnatural death and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.The police are also expected to record statements from family members and other relatives who were present at the house after the teenager was discovered.
