Rourkela: A 15-year-old Class XI student of a private English-medium school allegedly died by suicide at his home late on Thursday night. His mother lodged an FIR on Friday evening. The deceased lived with his mother, a teacher at the same school, and his seven-year-old sister. His father works in Dubai.According to the FIR, the family had gone to sleep in the same room on Thursday night. On Friday morning, when his mother woke up, she allegedly found him hanging from the ceiling in another room. With the help of his neighbours, she rushed him to Ispat General Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.The boy had passed Class X from the school this year and had recently joined Class XI. He was also enrolled in a private coaching institute to prepare for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).Police said the body has been kept at the morgue and will be handed over to the family after post-mortem examination. His father is expected to reach Rourkela soon. Police are probing all possible angles behind the death. According to local sources, the teenager may have been under academic pressure, though investigators said the exact circumstances can be established only after the inquiry is completed.
