Heated arguments soon followed between the two sides.Ravi Raj, general secretary of the JD(U) Buxar unit, alleged that he was assaulted by Yadav’s supporters and had to flee to protect himself. Rajkumar Sharma, a candidate for the post, claimed election norms were not followed. A party member since 1995, he alleged that he was prevented from participating by individuals he described as Yadav’s supporters, some of whom he claimed had links with the RJD.Sharma further alleged that Yadav had retained influence over the district unit since 2003 through unfair means and demanded that the state leadership, including CM Nitish Kumar, cancel what he termed an unjust election. The election supervisor declined to comment.A scuffle later broke out outside the campus gate before police arrived, dispersed the crowd and restored order. The election was briefly halted but later resumed under police supervision. Yadav denied the allegations, claiming some individuals deliberately tried to disrupt the process and tarnish the party’s image.
