Bokaro: Teams of Jharkhand Jaguar, special branch and the district police searched the chamber of judges, Bokaro court and the Bokaro Bar Association premises after receiving an email threatening to blow up the premises on Monday. However, it turned out later that the threat mail was a hoax, SP Harvinder Singh said.“An investigation into the matter revealed that the email was a hoax. Investigation is underway to identify the senders of the email,” SP said.

Panic gripped the court premises on Monday after it came to light that the registrar had received a threat mail around 9 am. The police was promptly informed. Police teams then evacuated the court premises and pressed in bomb detection and disposal squads to conduct searches. As a result, court work remained disrupted for hours.The email, addressed to Sourav, mentioned an incident in Tamil Nadu and claimed that 14 bombs filled with toxic gas were planted on campus. The sender also asked those on the court’s rooftops to be on the lookout.Notably, similar threat mails were sent to Ranchi civil court and Ranchi district collectorate in Feb this year. Last week, the regional passport office in the state capital also received a threat mail.
