Mangaluru: Locals of Kadaba town, Dakshina Kannada shared a poster to launch a begging campaign, to develop roads the town, and the post went viral on the social media.“Kadaba town panchayat has no money, and villagers are initiating a begging campaign for the Madyadka – Bollekukku – Chakote road construction,” the poster read.
It also requested people to join hands and donate to help fix roads. Prakash Kodimbala, local resident, said that several memorandums were submitted to representatives and officials seeking funds for road development.He said that only patchwork was taken up on the road in the past 50 years. Hence, the road continues to remain in a pathetic state, with no proper drainage on either side, he said.The bad road caused inconvenience, and following complaints from the public, officials took up minor repair works last year. No major work was taken up after that, he added.Officials said road development work will be taken up soon after the Nagarothana scheme funds are released.
