Chennai: City student Thammina Girish has secured 100 percentile and secured all India rank 10 in JEE (mains) exam. The national testing agency (NTA) has declared the second session of the exam along with ranks on Monday.“All India rank 10 was a pleasant surprise. I did not expect such a high rank in the JEE (Mains) exam. I am preparing for the JEE (Advanced) exam and want to pursue computer science engineering in IIT Bombay,” Thammina Girish told TOI. A student from Narayana Olympiad School in Gopalapuram, Girish said he cleared the maths olympiad in Class X and was selected for physics Olympiad in Class XII.Another student from Chettinad Vidhyashram, Ajaiy P secured all India 31st rank in JEE exam. He plans to pursue ECE in IIT Bombay or IIT Madras. He is currently preparing for the JEE (Advanced) exam.B Pavan Kumar, academic dean of Maharishi Global Education, said more students from Tamil Nadu have featured within the top 2,000 ranks this year. NTA has announced that 2,50,182 candidates have qualified for the JEE (Advanced) exam scheduled to be conducted on May 17.
