Ranchi: A special Criminal Investigation Department (CID) court on Tuesday rejected the bail petition of former Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) deputy examination controller Shweta Gupta in the alleged irregularities in examinations conducted by the JPSC case.The court had reserved its order last Friday after hearing arguments from both sides.Advocate Vikrant Sinha, appearing for Gupta, said the reasons for rejection would be known after the detailed order is uploaded. His client would move the Jharkhand high court challenging the lower court’s decision, he added.The CID has registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and the Jharkhand Competitive Examination (Prevention and Redressal of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act in the alleged irregularities in JPSC examinations.The CID had last month arrested two JPSC officials — former chairman L Khiangte and Gupta — during the course of its investigation. With this, the court has rejected the bail petitions of both accused persons in the case.
