CID said the arrests were part of its ongoing probe into the 14th JPSC examination scam

Ranchi: CID officers on Tuesday arrested the wife and brother of Abhay Tiwari, a key accused in alleged irregularities in Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) examinations.The accused have been identified as Tiwari’s wife, Sushma Kumari, and his brother, Akshay Kumar Tiwari. The agency said the arrests were part of its ongoing probe into the 14th JPSC examination scam and alleged irregularities in other state recruitment exams.Tiwari, an employee of TSR Data Processing Ltd, a private agency engaged by JPSC, was arrested earlier. His wife and brother had also cleared the 2024 JSSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination, the recruitment process for which is under investigation.State govt on Monday announced the annulment of the entire JSSC CGL recruitment process. The examination had earlier been cancelled following allegations of a paper leak, and a re-examination was conducted in Sept 2024. Appointment letters were subsequently issued to successful candidates.CID also questioned JSSC secretary Sudhir Gupta at the commission’s office on Monday and again on Tuesday.The agency secured five-day remand of three accused arrested earlier in the JPSC case — Manoj Kumar, Roshan Kerketta and Umakant Oraon — for further interrogation.
