Chandigarh: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Monday took oath as a member of the Rajya Sabha in Punjabi at Parliament House, saying he would be the “voice of three crore Punjabis” in the Upper House.Chugh said he would strongly advocate Punjab’s interests, aspirations and self-respect in Parliament. He said the state’s drug menace, farmers’ issues, industrial revival, gangsterism, extortion, gun culture, unemployment, groundwater depletion and the concerns of traders would be among the key issues he would raise.He said he was committed to Punjab’s holistic development and to connecting the state with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
