Ahead of Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’, internet users created AI images imagining Indian actors in lead roles, casting Aamir Khan as Odysseus, Tabu as Penelope, Sai Pallavi as Athena, Ishaan Khatter as Telemachus, and Janhvi Kapoor as Helen. The film, starring Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway, releases worldwide on July 17, 2026.

With Christopher Nolan‘s ‘The Odyssey’ on the horizon, internet users have turned to AI to imagine an Indian version of Homer’s epic poem brought to life on screen. Actors like Aamir Khan, Tabu, Ishaan Khatter, Sai Pallavi, and Janhvi Kapoor were among those envisioned in the lead roles of the upcoming Hollywood film.

Aamir Khan as Odysseus, Tabu as Penelope

Aamir Khan was pictured as Odysseus, the character portrayed by Matt Damon in ‘The Odyssey’, dressed in armour with a bearded look and grey hair, standing amid a war zone. Tabu, admired for her performance in the ‘Dune’ series, was reimagined as Penelope, the role originally played by Anne Hathaway.

Sai Pallavi, Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor and others reimagined

Sai Pallavi, who made her Bollywood debut with ‘Ek Din’ (2026), was pictured as Zendaya’s Athena from ‘The Odyssey’, while Ishaan Khatter’s look was recreated as Odysseus’s son Telemachus, the role played by Tom Holland in the film. Janhvi Kapoor’s AI-generated image, meanwhile, casts her as Helen of Troy, a character portrayed by Lupita Nyong’o. Also brought into ‘The Odyssey’ world through these AI reimaginings are Akshaye Khanna, Jim Sarbh and Amitabh Bachchan, cast respectively as Antinous, the Greek king of Sparta, and Sinon, roles originally played by Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal and Elliot Page.

Adapting one of the earliest known stories in human history, ‘The Odyssey’ follows Odysseus (Damon) as he battles trials and mythical encounters on his ten-year journey home following the Trojan War, all in his attempt to return to his wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and son Telemachus (Holland).
