Bengaluru: Cybercrime police have launched a manhunt for a person who allegedly sold thousands of child sexual exploitation videos online. The accused is suspected to be a resident of Indiranagar.The development came after Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau alerted authorities in Bengaluru about a suspicious individual linked to the circulation of CSEAM (child sexual exploitative and abuse material) content).
East Cyber Crime police registered a case and began the probe.According to officials, the suspect allegedly uploaded around 3,000 videos containing CSEAM content on a Telegram group and sold access to them at Rs 550 per video. The mobile number linked to the activity was initially traced to an address in Narayana Reddy Layout.However, after analysing the call records, police found that the suspect’s address was at Indiranagar. A senior officer said steps were being taken to apprehend the individual behind the Telegram group and dismantle any wider network involved in the circulation of child sexual abuse material. A case was registered under the Information Technology Act.
