Lucknow: Chief engineer of EPC (engineering procurement and construction) mission cell in the planning department Pavan Verma was put on waiting by the state govt on Thursday.Verma was recently transferred to Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) aş chief engineer and was overseeing working of both the infrastructure arms of the state which are involved in giving shape to big ticket projects.Verma has also served at Inland Waterways Authority of India as a chief engineer (traffic).According to sources, Verma could be attached to PWD till further orders.The principal secretary, planning, had issued a show cause notice to Verma on Aug 31 seeking an explanation over an order through which provisions related to request of proposal document was changed, apparently without seeking approval and consent of the governing body of the EPC mission cell or state govt.
