NFL Trade Rumors: Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Chargers could pursue $4 million New England Patriots wide receiver(Getty)

NFL Trade Rumours surrounding Kayshon Boutte are beginning to gain traction after fresh developments inside the New England Patriots’ offseason program. Boutte remains under his rookie contract, and that could make him an attractive trade target for teams still searching for receiver help before training camp opens. That is where the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Chargers enter the conversation as possible landing spots if New England decides to explore trade calls this summer.

NFL trade rumors: Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Chargers emerge as serious options for New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte

The latest trade speculation picked up after ESPN analyst Mike Reiss reported comments from Patriots receiver Romeo Doubs during New England’s voluntary offseason program. While discussing players who helped him adjust to the offence, Doubs mentioned Mack Hollins, DeMario Douglas, Kyle Williams and Efton Chism III.“Free agent signee Romeo Doubs highlighted Mack Hollins, DeMario ‘Pop’ Douglas, Kyle Williams and Efton Chism III as receivers who have helped him acclimate to the Patriots’ system through the first four weeks of the voluntary offseason program,” Reiss wrote.Kayshon Boutte’s name never surfaced. That may sound small, but the current situation matters. That detail immediately sparked conversation because the Patriots already reshaped their receiver room after moving on from Stefon Diggs earlier this offseason. New England also added Doubs and continues to face rumors connecting the team to AJ Brown.Reiss also said that Boutte has been working out away from the Patriots’ facility. Also, Boutte was the WR2 for the offence last season.Anthony Palacios of Last Word on Sports later connected the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Chargers to Boutte as possible landing spots if the Patriots decide to explore trade offers this summer. The idea makes sense because Boutte still carries value after finishing last season with 33 receptions, 551 yards and six touchdowns.More importantly, contenders love cheap upside. Boutte’s rookie contract gives teams flexibility, and at just 24 years old, he still fits long-term plans instead of serving as a short-term rental.

Why could Kayshon Boutte fit perfectly with the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Chargers?

Chicago continues searching for more help behind Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III. The Bears want to maximise quarterback Caleb Williams’ development, and Boutte could immediately compete for the WR3 role while adding another serious threat to the offence. The Los Angeles Chargers have a similar issue. Justin Herbert still needs more proven depth outside of Ladd McConkey. Head coach Jim Harbaugh wants more explosiveness in the passing attack, and Boutte’s speed fits naturally into that system.Right now, the New England Patriots have not publicly discussed moving him. Still, these trade chatters do not gain this much traction without teams quietly paying attention behind the scenes.
