HYDERABAD: Eagle force sleuths in Hyderabad nabbed a 28-year-old cinematographer from Chennai after finding 3.8g ganja in his possession during a check at a hotel in Jubilee Hills. A urine test also confirmed marijuana consumption.According to Jubilee Hills police, the Eagle force team, along with local police, conducted checks at a hotel on Road No. 13 on Monday night. During the search, the cinematographer was found carrying a small quantity of ganja.“The urine sample tested positive for consumption of marijuana. Since the quantity found in his possession was very small and he wanted to undergo rehabilitation, we treated him as a consumer and booked a case under the NDPS Act. He was referred to a de-addiction centre for rehabilitation,” Jubilee Hills inspector D Ashok said.Police said the man frequently travels between Chennai and Hyderabad for work in the film industry.As part of its anti-narcotics drive, Eagle force teams, along with local police, conduct regular checks at hotels across the city, using sniffer dogs to detect narcotic substances.
