Chennai: Vehicles will pay up to Rs 35 more for the first 30 minutes and up to Rs 110 more for parking for 24 hours at Chennai international airport from Sunday. Authorities last revised the charges in 2024.Airport authorities said the contract allows a 5% increase in parking charges. The new rates will take effect at 1am on Sunday. The charge for cars will rise from Rs 85 to Rs 90 for the first 30 minutes. For 30 minutes to one hour, it will increase from Rs 110 to Rs 115. A car parked for two hours will cost Rs 380, up from Rs 360.Vans with up to 16 seats will pay Rs 345 for the first 30 minutes and up to Rs 1,155 for 24 hours. Vehicles with more than 16 seats will pay Rs 695 for the first 30 minutes and up to Rs 2,315 for 24 hours.Two-wheeler parking charges will remain largely unchanged. Those who lose their parking tickets must pay a penalty of Rs 580 for cars and Rs 175 for two-wheelers, besides the parking charge. Cabs and taxis will continue to pay an entry fee of Rs 45 to pick up passengers.
