Vasco: A complaint has been filed against a Mormugao jeweller for allegedly cheating a woman from Headland-Sada, Mormugao, and breaching her trust.In her complaint, Netra Honavarkar alleged that the accused, Bhimappa Chalwadi of Headland-Sada, gave her loans of Rs 2.7 lakh and Rs 2.2 lakh after pledging gold valued at Rs 14 lakh at PBC Jewellers’ shop.When the complainant went to repay the loans with interest, the accused refused to accept the payment and return the ornaments, stating that the gold had been melted, thereby violating trust and causing wrongful loss to her.Mormugao police have registered an offence under sections 316 (5) and 318 (4) of BNS. PSI Saidatta Naik is further investigating the case.
