Chandigarh: The UT School Education Department has extended the deadline for online registration for admission to Class XI in Govt Senior Secondary Schools by a day following a technical issue on its admission portal on Friday.According to an official communication, candidates can now complete their online registration till 5pm on June 27. The department said the extension was granted after applicants experienced difficulties in accessing the school education department website due to a technical problem.“Due to the technical issue experienced on the school education department website today, the online registration for admission to Class XI in govt senior secondary schools, UT, has been extended to June 27 (5pm),” the department said in the notice.Officials have advised all eligible applicants who were unable to complete the process because of the disruption to utilise the extended window and submit their applications before the revised deadline. The department has also urged students to avoid waiting till the last few hours to complete the registration process.The extension comes at a crucial stage of the admission process, with thousands of students seeking admission to Class XI in govt schools across the city after declaration of Class X examination results. The online registration process is the first step for candidates seeking admission in various streams, including science, commerce and humanities, offered by govt senior secondary schools.The education department has requested all eligible applicants to ensure that their online registration is completed within the extended period, as no further announcement regarding the registration schedule has been made so far.
