Thiruvananthapuram: The life of Chattampi Swamikal serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to proper traditions in society, said governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. He was speaking at the inauguration of Chattampi Swamikal memorial lecture held in Panmana, Kollam, on Sunday.The governor stated that great figures like Chattampi Swamikal, Sree Narayana Guru and Adi Shankaracharya valued society above their own lives and dedicated themselves to the welfare of the community. He added that the teachings of these great individuals remind us of our duty to society, and now was the time to act in accordance with the essence of their teachings. He also mentioned that they believed in the philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and that Swamikal’s teachings are filled with the message that all communities are one. Governor emphasised that it is time to pledge to uphold the right principles and traditions in every family and community. Only then can India be fully protected, he said. Highlighting that great figures like Swamikal are proud contributions to Kerala’s rich cultural heritage, governor urged all people to follow the right principles and traditions in all areas of life.
