Rohtak: A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured after being attacked by two pet pit bulls in Basant Vihar colony here on Monday.The incident, captured on CCTV, shows the dogs chasing and mauling the child in a busy market area.Police said the victim, Dipanshu (13), had stepped out with his younger brother Poorav (7) to buy lassi near their uncle’s house when the dogs, allegedly released by neighbours, chased him. The animals caught hold of the boy, attacked his abdomen and dragged him to the ground, leaving him with deep injuries.A passer-by, identified as Vikram, intervened and managed to rescue the child. Dipanshu was rushed to PGIMS Rohtak, where he is undergoing treatment.The boy’s father, Sunil Nehra, a manager at a central cooperative bank, alleged that the dog owners — Sharmila and her daughter Muskan — did not intervene during the attack and instead went inside their house.Police from Old Sabzi Mandi police station have registered a case against the two women and initiated an investigation.
