Chandrapur: Under the Centre’s PM e-Bus Sewa initiative, Chandrapur is set to introduce its first fleet of 30 air conditioned operational buses, in its first phase. The Union ministry of housing and urban affairs has sanctioned a total of 50 e-buses for the city, with the remaining 20 to be inducted later.The service will connect Chandrapur with key towns and villages within a 25-km radius, including Ballarpur, Bhadravati, Ghugghus, Bamni, Arvat-Charwar and Chichpalli on the Mul route, improving connectivity for both urban and rural commuters.To support the project, the Chandrapur Municipal Corporation (CMC) will develop a bus terminal and charging depot on vacant land near Krishi Bhavan, which will be connected with the city’s main bus station.The Centre will provide an operational subsidy of ₹25 per kilometre to help keep fares affordable. The project is expected to reduce vehicular emissions, strengthen public transport and provide Chandrapur with its first organised city bus service in years.
