Chandigarh: In a major relief to buyers, sellers, and consultants, the UT administration has scrapped the mandatory requirement of submitting a no-dues certificate before selling leasehold properties in the Union Territory.Issued by deputy commissioner Nishant Yadav, the new order removes a lengthy administrative procedure that previously caused significant delays in property transfers.The decision follows sustained advocacy by the Property Consultants Association Chandigarh, which met senior administration officials in July to highlight how the mandatory certificate triggered unnecessary procedural bottlenecks and inconvenience.Welcoming the order, association president Vikram Chopra noted that eliminating the pre-sale no-dues requirement will make real estate deals across Chandigarh significantly faster, simpler, and more efficient.
