Chandrapur: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in Chandrapur arrested Sukhwinder Singh Hakam Singh Kharaur, a director of VueNow Marketing Services Limited, in connection with an alleged nationwide financial fraud involving transactions worth 3,717 crore. The arrest was made on March 11 following a probe into an investment scheme that promised high returns through so-called ‘cloud particles’ linked to data centres.The case, registered at Ram Nagar Police Station (Crime No. 777/2025), invokes provisions of the BNS and the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (MPID) Act, 1999. Investigators allege that the accused misled investors into purchasing virtual assets under rental agreements, which yielded no returns. Kharaur, from Mohali, is accused of routing investor funds through 14 bank accounts, with transactions reaching 3,717 crore over the past two years. Police sources said the case in Chandrapur was initiated after complainant Vivek Barshinge reported a loss of 25 lakh. At least 10 more local investors have since come forward, claiming collective losses running into 2 crore.
