Mysuru: Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) managing director MS Archana has said that electricity illumination works and power system preparations are being undertaken on a war footing in the city in view of Dasara 2026.She said necessary precautionary measures have been taken to ensure that lakhs of tourists and the public visiting Mysuru city during Dasara festival do not face any power disruption. “Required power supply and technical systems for electric illumination being undertaken at Dasara key places, roads, circles and important buildings are being checked,” she said.“Officers have been given strict instructions to ensure quality and safety of electricity cables, control panels, distribution boxes and other electrical equipment installed for illumination. They have been told to rectify open wires or dangerous electrical system,” she said.“In view of increased power demand during Dasara, continuous monitoring is being done on major power substations, feeders and power lines. Additional staff, vehicles and necessary equipment have been kept ready to respond immediately in emergency situations,” she said.Priority is being given to public safety during illumination works and those concerned have been instructed to take up works without causing inconvenience to road traffic and without posing danger to the public, she said.“The public should cooperate with CESC to make Dasara illumination safe and successful. Caution should be exercised not to touch illuminated electricity poles, artworks and electrical equipment. If any electrical accident or dangerous situation is noticed, immediately inform power utility officials concerned,” Archana said.
