Patna: Senior scientist of the European Council for Nuclear Research (CERN) at Geneva, Archana Sharma, speaking at the inauguration of a three-day national conference at the Central University of South Bihar, said nuclear physics has helped unravel atomic structure and energy, enabling technologies like radiotherapy. She highlighted that high-energy physics has deepened understanding of matter and the universe, while medical imaging tools such as CT, PET, and MRI have transformed healthcare. Over 165 experts are attending the DST-sponsored event. Earlier, CUSB R&D cell director Durg Vijay Singh said advances in nuclear and high-energy physics have significantly improved cancer diagnosis and treatment. Conference coordinator Venkatesh Singh welcomed participants, and life sciences head Ram Pratap Singh proposed the vote of thanks.
