Ranchi: State chief electoral officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar on Monday reviewed the booth level officer (BLO) registers and sketch maps (Nazri Naksha) of randomly selected polling stations in Jamshedpur (East) and Jamshedpur (West) Assembly constituencies under East Singhbhum district.Kumar also visited some households and cross-verified the facts recorded by the BLOs in the registers with the voters residing there. District electoral officer cum deputy commissioner Karn Satyarthi and others were present during the review.“BLOs must work with the goal that no eligible citizen is left out of the electoral rolls and no ineligible person’s name is entered in the electoral roll,” Kumar said. The BLOs are affixing stickers bearing their information by going door to door.“During this, BLOs should identify and carry out mapping of those voters who have still not been mapped from the previous intensive revision of electoral rolls,” he said. Kumar further added that the list of absent, shifted, death and duplicate entries should be prepared as per rules, and this list must be authenticated by the booth level agents of recognised political parties.
