Mysuru: Chief electoral officer V Anbukumar on Monday reviewed the progress of the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the district and directed authorities to ensure total transparency in the process.Addressing officials, he directed booth level officers (BLOs) to carry out the SIR process with complete transparency. He instructed electoral registration officers (EROs) to undertake field visits within their respective assembly constituencies to monitor and verify the electoral roll revision process. Officials and staff were asked to treat the SIR exercise with utmost seriousness and ensure close supervision at every stage.Anbukumar said all voter details must be verified meticulously. He instructed officials to identify polling stations where progress was slow, focus greater attention on such areas, provide necessary guidance and take measures to expedite the revision work.The CEO also directed EROs to hold meetings with representatives of recognised registered political parties. BLO were instructed to meet booth level agents (BLA-2) appointed by recognised political parties and share the weekly progress report of the SIR exercise. They were also asked to furnish details of voters identified under the ASDDO categories — Absent, Shifted, Death, Duplicate and Other — on a weekly basis.During the meeting, he clarified doubts and addressed queries raised by EROs and assistant electoral registration officers regarding various aspects of the revision process.
