Pune: Airport police have arrested the CEO of a consultancy firm and booked his two accomplices for allegedly cheating 76 youngsters of Rs1.52 crore by promising them handsome salaries in his firm but failing to pay them.One of the victims (33), a resident of Pimple Nilakh, lodged a complaint with the police on Monday morning. Later in the night, the police arrested the CEO. Senior inspector Govind Jadhav of Airport police station said, “We have arrested Nikhileshwar Kshirsagar from his Viman Nagar residence late on Monday night. Kshirsagar is a resident of Amravati and his firm’s head office is located there.”The cheating took place between Sept 2025 and March this year. Police said Kshirsagar was running his firm from a commercial building in Viman Nagar. Jadhav added, “Kshirsagar was produced before a city court and the court remanded him in police custody till March 16. According to the FIR, Kshirsagar approached individuals and promised them two months of training for different professions. He collected fees from them for the training. He had also promised them jobs in his firm with high salaries. However, after hiring the youngsters from various parts of the city, he did not pay them their salaries.““The victims later demanded their salaries and a refund of the fees, but Kshirsagar refused to pay them. We believe more people may approach us,” he said, adding: “Kshirsagar told us that his firm had not received any new assignments or work, and therefore he failed to pay salaries.”
