Itanagar: An inter-ministerial central team (IMCT) led by ministry of home affairs joint secretary Nishtha Tiwari visited Arunachal Pradesh’s Keyi Panyor district to assess damage caused by recent flash floods and landslides, officials said.The team, accompanied by state disaster management secretary Dani Salu, travelled by road from Itanagar via Kimin and inspected several damaged stretches along the highway. Officials said the delegation assessed formation breaches and active landslide zones that have disrupted connectivity in the area.According to a DIPRO report, the central team also visited Posa NEEPCO Colony and Possa village, among the worst-hit locations, to take stock of flood-related damage.The delegation later held a review meeting with Keyi Panyor deputy commissioner Shweta Nagarkoti, superintendent of police Angad Mehta, district officials and public representatives.Nagarkoti briefed the team on damage to public infrastructure, agricultural losses and immediate relief requirements in the district, the report said.Officials said the team’s field observations from Yazali and nearby areas would form part of its final assessment report to the MHA. The report is expected to help determine the admissibility of additional central financial assistance for recovery and rehabilitation work in the state.
