Celina Jaitly has penned a heartfelt note as two years have passed since her brother, Major (Retd.) Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, was detained in the United Arab Emirates. The former actress revealed that she has had no communication with him throughout this period but continues to hold on to faith in God and the Government of India, even as her personal legal battle for him recently came to a close in the Delhi High Court. Here’s what she has posted on her social media.

Celina Jaitly’s post marking two years of separation from her brother

Taking to Instagram, Celina Jaitly wrote, “6 September 2026 marks…. Two years today since Maj Vikrant was taken. 6th September 2024 to 6th September 2026. These two years have changed both my brother’s life & mine in ways only known to us. I have had no contact with my brother since. I have done everything I can as a sister, & I continue to stand by him, wherever he is, however he is, with faith & hope in God & the Government of India.“She also spoke proudly of her brother’s military background, describing him as a fourth-generation soldier. She added, “My brother, Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitly… A fourth-generation infantry soldier. Commissioned into the Corps of Signals after training at the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering, he chose to become a member of the elite Special Forces, serving with 3 Para Special Forces. He also served on a United Nations peacekeeping mission in Lebanon with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). A recipient of the Chief of the Army Staff Commendation for Gallantry. He was born with a maroon beret… He lived to honour it with his life.”

‘My love for you remains unchanged,’ writes Celina Jaitly for her brother

In an emotional part of her post, Celina Jaitly reflected on how much her brother means to her, especially after losing their parents. Se wrote, “A sister who has lost everything awaits her brother. Besides my sons, he is all I have. And truly, I am all he has of blood. No matter what you said, or under what circumstances you said it, bhai, my love for you remains unchanged. I am your sister, & I will always stand by you. Our parents are no longer with us… All I have is memories and prayers. Maa & Pa, wherever you are, please know that I am steadfast in my support of our Dumpy.”She ended her note with a personal message to her brother, invoking a shared family memory. She concluded, “Bhai, wherever you are, however you are, your sister stands by you. With faith. With hope. Always. We will always be Mummy’s password. Chinky Dumpy. Prakramo Vijeyte.”

Celina’s legal battle for her brother

Celina had earlier moved the Delhi High Court, seeking legal representation for Vikrant and requesting that authorities help facilitate contact between the siblings. In November 2025, the court had asked the Centre to work towards ensuring proper legal support for him and to try enabling communication between the two. Around that time, Celina had referred to herself as his “sole surviving immediate blood relative”.However, in March 2026, the court dismissed her plea for consular access, legal aid and communication facilitation after being informed that Vikrant did not wish to be in touch with his sister and preferred to consult his wife, Charul Jaitly, on legal matters going forward.

Celina’s response to the court’s decision

Following this outcome, Celina Jaitly maintained that her only concern had always been her brother’s safety and well-being. She also indicated that his reluctance to communicate with her might stem from a desire to protect her from additional emotional pain.
