The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Exams 2026 scheduled on March 5 and March 6 in several Middle East countries, citing the prevailing situation in the region.
In an official circular issued on March 3, the Board said the examinations scheduled for Thursday, March 5, 2026, and Friday, March 6, 2026, for both Class X and Class XII students will stand deferred.
Countries Where CBSE Exams Have Been Postponed
The postponement applies to CBSE-affiliated schools in:
United Arab Emirates (UAE)
Saudi Arabia
Qatar
Bahrain
Kuwait
Oman
Iran
These countries host a large number of Indian students enrolled in CBSE schools.
New Exam Dates to Be Announced Later
CBSE has clarified that revised dates for the postponed Class 10 and Class 12 exams will be announced separately.
The Board stated that the decision was taken after a “critical review of the current situation” in parts of the Middle East.
Decision on Exams From March 7 Onwards Pending
Importantly, CBSE said it will review the situation again on March 5, 2026, and take an appropriate decision regarding examinations scheduled from March 7 onwards.
This means students appearing for CBSE Board Exams 2026 in the Middle East must wait for further clarity regarding upcoming papers.
Advisory for Students and Parents
The Board has advised all students to remain in regular contact with their respective schools and follow only official CBSE announcements for updates on the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations.
The circular has been issued by the Controller of Examinations, CBSE. Further updates are expected after the Board’s review later this week.>
