Mumbai: Two years after Bombay High Court transferred the investigation into the murder of former corporator Abhishek Ghosalkar of Shiv Sena (UBT) from Mumbai crime branch to Central Bureau of Investigation, a supplementary chargesheet was filed in the case by the investigating agency on Tuesday.On Feb 8, 2024, during a Facebook Live session, Ghosalkar was shot allegedly by his political rival Mauris Noronha, who later allegedly died by suicide.HC had directed the transfer on a petition by Ghosalkar’s widow, Tejasvee, who sought a probe by an SIT or by an independent agency like CBI, alleging the crime branch’s investigation was done to protect Mauris’ PA Mehul Parekh and bodyguard Amrendra Mishra.Her advocate Bhushan Mahadik said police failed to examine many material/important aspects. The city police had alleged that Noronha used his bodyguard Amarendra Mishra’s authorised firearm to carry out the killing of Ghosalkar (40), a former corporator, inside his office at IC Colony in Borivli, Mumbai, before taking his own life. Mishra was arrested but subsequently granted bail.
