New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said on Wednesday that it has arrested two more accused for their alleged involvement in the NEET-UG 2026 examination paper leak case taking the total number of arrests in the case to 13.
Of the two fresh arrests one includes Manoj Shirure, a Latur-based doctor. In a statement issued on Wednesday, CBI said Shirure allegedly played the “key role in facilitating three students, including the son of an accused coaching centre owner, in getting the Chemistry questions from PV Kulkarni, a Latur-based chemistry lecturer, co-accused and alleged kingpin in the case.
The second arrested accused is Tejas Harshadkumar Shah, a physics faculty at Dr Abhang Prabhu Medical Academy (APMA), a Pune-based coaching centre. The agency has alleged that Shah got the leaked Physics questions of NEET UG 2026 Exam from co-accused Manisha Havaldar.
The agency said “investigation to unearth the chain and the conspiracy in this case is ongoing”. CBI claims to have conducted searches at 49 locations at various places and seized “several incriminating” documents, laptops, and mobile phones.
