T’puram: Heavy rain that lashed the district over the past few days has caused extensive damage to agricultural crops, affecting 23.6 hectares of farmland across three blocks, according to a report released by the principal agricultural officer. As per the assessment completed till 4pm on Saturday, Neyyattinkara block recorded the highest crop loss, with damage reported over 22.7 hectares. Parassala block recorded crop damage across 0.8 hectares, while Kattakkada block reported losses over 0.1 hectares. A total of 141 farmers have been affected.
