Mumbai: Sahar police arrested a passenger for allegedly smoking in an aircraft toilet aboard a flight from Saudi Arabia to Mumbai on July 30. Despite a no-smoking sign being visibly displayed aboard the Saudi-Mumbai flight, the passenger committed the offence after the flight took off from Saudi.The passenger, identified as Nurry Bahuleyan (34) from Kerala’s Alappuzha locality, was spotted by cabin crew after they noticed smoke in the flight toilet when he stepped out. New Delhi: As textile collection-cum-sale kiosks are being set up at select metro stations where people can donate usable old clothes, ‘Arpan Kendras’ were opened at five metro stations Monday. Bengaluru: A loan fraud involving Rs 4.5 crore has come to light after an internal investigation by ICICI Bank uncovered a criminal conspiracy in which fake liability-closure certificates were used to secure dozens of personal loans that would otherwise have been rejected.According to a complaint filed by the bank, personal loans worth Rs 4.5 crore were sanctioned to several customers after they executed agreements with the bank. However, the fraud surfaced following whistleblower information alleging that many of these loans had been approved on the basis of forged no-dues certificates (NDCs)/ loan closure certificates.An internal probe reportedly confirmed the allegations.…
