Patna: Police arrested an armed criminal who allegedly attempted to rob a cash van outside the HDFC Bank branch near Vaishali roundabout under Kadamkuan police station area on Monday afternoon. Two of his accomplices managed to escape on a motorbike.The incident took place around 3.30pm when the cash van arrived near the bank after collecting cash from a coaching institute in Kankarbagh. Kolkata: In a major breakthrough for Indian biodiversity research, scientists from the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) have developed the country’s first and largest DNA barcode reference library for cockroaches, uncovering several undocumented and endemic lineages found nowhere else in the world.The study, published in the international taxonomy journal Zootaxa, revealed that India’s hidden cockroach diversity is far greater than previously recognised.The research was a collaborative effort conducted by scientists from ZSI’s Western Regional Centre (Pune), Southern Regional Centre (Chennai) and Prof. Ramkrishna More College.
