New Delhi: Amid scorching summer heat, Delhi’s peak power demand touched 8,439 MW on May 25, which is the highest recorded so far in 2026 and the highest ever peak power demand in the first 25 days of May.According to data from State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC), the city’s power demand has crossed the 8,000 MW mark four times within six days as a result of the impact of an early and swelting summer heat. Chennai: More than 4,000 residents from several neighbourhoods in Chromepet blocked the busy GST Road on Monday morning, complaining that they did not get proper drinking water supply for the past 10 days.
