Chennai: An unidentified gang of robbers sprayed chilli powder into the eyes of a 35-year-old man, Tamilarasan, of Tiruttani, before attacking him with a sharp weapon, leaving him with severe cut injuries near Tiruttani.Police said that Tamilarasan left his house at around 8pm on Sunday but did not return home. Ahmedabad: The Admission Committee for Professional Diploma Courses (ACPDC), Gujarat, has completed Round-1 admissions for the academic year 2026-27 across 31 govt, five grant-in-aid and 113 self-financed institutes.According to data released by the committee, govt institutes, with a total intake of 23,238 seats (including EWS), recorded a strong response, with 20,435 seats allotted and 17,080 admissions confirmed — an allotment rate of 87.9% and confirmation rate of 73.5%.Self-financed institutes, however, saw a lukewarm response. Of the 38,531 seats on offer, only 11,557 were allotted and 8,709 admissions confirmed, translating to an allotment rate of 30% and confirmation rate of 22.6%.Overall,…
