Kolkata: The Union rural development ministry will conduct a four-day training programme for Bengal govt officials this week to accelerate the implementation of the VB-G RAM G scheme. According to officials, the programme will be held from Tuesday to Friday at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in New Town. NEW DELHI: The defence ministry has invited domestic aerospace firms to design and develop Airship-based High Altitude Pseudo Satellites (AS-HAPS) under a Rs 15,000-crore program for the Indian Air Force to provide persistent intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) at significantly lower cost than satellites.HAPS are pseudo satellites that hover in the stratosphere at 20 km altitude (65,000 feet), well above commercial air traffic and weather systems. Mira Road: A Mira Road resident lost Rs 25.67 lakh to cyber fraudsters after responding to an Instagram advertisement claiming to offer stock market training.The victim clicked on the link, shared his details and was later contacted by a woman identifying herself as Aditi Verma, who asked him to download an app. Lured by promises of high investment returns, he transferred money to multiple bank accounts. The Saturday murder was the fourth death in a fight over a plot, in which US-based gangster Himanshu Bhau and his aide, Vicky Hadal, have joined for a share. Hyderabad: Irrigation minister Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday said the Telangana govt would approach the Karnataka govt for emergency releases of Krishna water if deficient rainfall continues and the drinking water situation worsens in the coming months. Citing the impact of El Niño on the monsoon, the minister said drinking water would receive priority over all other uses until next June.“If rainfall does not improve during Sept, Oct and Nov, we may have to manage with the available water until next July. Drinking water must therefore be given first priority, and every available source should be protected,” the minister said.…
