AHMEDABAD: The death toll from heavy rains and flooding in Gujarat has risen to 35 over the past two days, as rainfall eased across the state and authorities shifted their focus to damage assessment and post-flood clean-up, officials said on Saturday.According to officials, 29 of the fatalities were reported from Valsad and Navsari, the two districts worst affected by the flooding. Berhampur: Altogether 260 missing persons, including 25 children, were rescued by police in Ganjam and Kandhamal districts during the five-day special drive of Anweshan-III executed from July 18 to 22. While Kandhamal police rescued 138 missing people, Ganjam police rescued 122 people.Among them was a woman who was missing since last 10 years from a village in Kandhamal district.
